Hollowcore Flooring | Stair Units | Wall Units
This £13.5 million Strathearn School redevelopment project is a significant investment for the NI economy and consisted of a 10,000m2 new school building and a 1,600m2 refurbishment (and demolition of remaining buildings) to provide the appropriate facilities for 770 pupils by main contractor McLaughlin & Harvey.
Siteworks included provision of new roads and car parking, a synthetic pitch, two all-weather hockey pitches and tennis courts.
A major stipulation for this project was that the existing school had to remain operational throughout all the main phases. AG also had three phases in the contract consisting of 5,000m2 of hollowcore precast flooring and seven stairwells including precast wall panels within the stairwell.
AG worked closely with the main contractor to ensure delivery matched the programme as the main school was ‘live’ during the entire contract and logistics were of utmost importance.
“Working closely with the AG drawing office we were able to ensure that all the precast slabs and stairs fitted without a hitch first-time meaning the installation progressed on programme at all times. The effort that AG put into their drawings and details was invaluable and made the process of precast installation as straightforward as possible.”
