The Background

Opened at a cost of £52 million, the Institute of Life Sciences building is the result of the largest research investment ever made by Swansea University and is Wales’ premier purpose-built medical research facility.

Home to the School of Medicine’s interdisciplinary research enterprise, the 5000mbuilding houses the UK’s most powerful research computer, Blue C.

AG designed, manufactured and installed 24 stair and landing units along with 5,000m2 of hollowcore flooring for the six storey building.

Precast Hollowcore flooring and stairs are manufactured using stringent processes in dedicated facilities, ensuring a high quality product manufactured to meet the client’s precise requirements.

Installation is therefore fast and efficient with a minimal requirement for wet trades.
